S&T enters partnership with NTT Communications

Last week, S&T Systems Integration & Technology Distribution, the Austrian-based systems integrator, announced the start of an official partnership with NTT Communications (NTTC), a subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone.

Comment: This strategic partnership is aimed at expanding business in central and Eastern Europe and makes good business sense for both S&T and NTTC. It enables NTTC to offer its Asian clients seamless, one-stop solutions in the systems and network area as they try to establish themselves in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. S&T brings to this deal not only its expertise, but its network of about 60 sites across 18 countries in that region. As part of the agreement, S&T will mainly offer its system and network integration skills to NTTC's clients, but will provide managed services, software development and consulting as required. For S&T, this partnership offers access to NTTC's sizeable, mainly Japanese and Korean client base.

Prior to the finalisation of this agreement, NTTC involved S&T in a handful of projects during the year to determine whether such collaboration was satisfactory - S&T obviously passed the test. Although S&T has several strategic partnerships in place, such as with SAP, CISCO, HP, IBM and Microsoft, this latest offers something new. Whereas the former alliances assist in the supply of hardware and software products, this partnership lays out the foundation of a client relationship. NTTC has singled out S&T for the provision of IT services. This is yet another element in S&T's transformation into a full-scale IT service provider.
